2023 Glick Cares Award Winners

The Gene B. Glick Company annually highlights one team member and one property team that go above and beyond in helping fulfill our core value of social responsibility with a Glick Cares Award. We are excited to announce this year's winners and highlight the exceptional social responsibility efforts that each of our award recipients accomplished.

The individual winner is Sam Miller, Instructional Design Specialist.

Sam is a shining example of helping Glick fulfill our core value of social responsibility. Sam has a passion for volunteering and giving back to her local community. For the past two years, Sam not only volunteered with Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build, she was also the team’s top fundraiser. She used her volunteer time off (VTO) this year with Partners in Housing’s A Fall Week at Fall Creek event where she painted apartment units.

Soon after Sam started at Glick, she was shadowing onsite at a property and a team member shared that they were trying to help a resident that didn’t have furniture. Sam took it upon herself to make arrangements to deliver a piece of furniture she no longer needed to this resident.

Outside of her involvement with Glick, Sam is a board member for the Carmel Farmers Market and an active volunteer at the market. Sam focuses on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) education by serving as an Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) coach at the United Methodist Church. IDI assesses intercultural competence – the capability to shift cultural perspective and appropriately adapt behavior to cultural difference and commonalities.

Thank you, Sam, for everything you do for our team and the broader community!

The property winner is The Reserve at Chandler’s Glen.

The team at The Reserve at Chandler’s Glen consistently goes above and beyond for their residents, not just with events like their back-to-school backpack giveaway and the summer Wag & Splash pool party for local police K9s and shelter dogs, but also through everyday interactions with their residents. The team is always putting residents’ needs first and making sure that they are proud to call The Reserve home.

Earlier this year, the property experienced a fire that displaced eight families. The team didn’t hesitate to jump into action to take care of these families, even helping them get set up in a hotel. The team brought meals to the hotel for several days so the residents had one less thing to worry about.

Christy Lindbeck, the Regional Property Manager of The Reserve at Chandler’s Glen, shared that the team “always wants what is best for all of their residents and looks at them as their families.”

One resident that recently moved out shared the following testimonial: “I am so grateful for my time at the Reserve and how your supportive, caring, and encouraging team helped our family thrive. We leave a new, better, and empowered people and will share it with the world. I truly believe more places should have a staff like you. You are all stars.”

The team at The Reserve includes Dawn Crawford, PM, Cassandra Brown, APM, Briana Noble, SC, Adam Lamping, MS, Randall Kinnaird, MT, Kendall Porter, MT, and Mariah Grisson, MT. Thank you all for going above and beyond to support your residents and the broader community!
