Juneteenth, officially celebrated on Thursday, June 19, commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. By celebrating Juneteenth, individuals can deepen their understanding of history and culture, fostering a sense of community and awareness. Embracing this day allows us to honor the past while looking forward to a more inclusive future. The below events are happening during the month of June within communities that Glick serves.

Florida
- Fort Lauderdale: Bring the family along to the City of Fort Lauderdale’s Juneteenth celebration to experience cultural performances, relax with arts and crafts and more on Saturday, June 14.
- Miami: Spend a Saturday at the HistoryMiami Museum touring their exhibit: Tropical Dreams: A People’s History of South Florida. Listen to stories from Black Miami featuring local storytellers and create Kente inspired jewelry for the community mural on Saturday, June 14.
- Miami: Enjoy Virginia Key Beach Park’s Juneteenth Beach Bash a space for families and community members to honor the significance of Juneteenth and to enjoy an afternoon of beachside activities on Saturday, June 14.
Georgia
- Savannah: Join other community members at Daffin Park for the “Unity in Fireworks” show, with additional activities and performances throughout the evening of Thursday, June 19 and the Savannah Juneteenth Fine Arts Festival on Saturday, June 21.
Illinois
- Chicago: Enjoy local vendors and small businesses, live performances, cultural showcases and family activities at Bronzeville’s annual Juneteenth celebration on Saturday, June 14.
- Decatur: Spend a day at the Devon Lakeshore Amphitheater for their Juneteenth Freedom Day event filled with rhythm soulfulness and festivity on Thursday, June 19.
- Springfield: Celebrate during a week-long Juneteenth celebration in the park full of education, community engagement and free entertainment on Saturday, June 12 – Thursday, June 19.
Indiana
- Bloomington: Explore a vibrant vendor market featuring Black-owned businesses and relax with live entertainment for a free, family-friendly Juneteenth Celebration at Switchyard Park on Friday, June 13.
- Evansville: Enjoy music, food, art, youth activities and more at Bayard Park for the 6th Annual EVV Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 7.
- Indianapolis: Gather at the Indiana State Fairgrounds for the Indy Juneteenth Celebration, where there will be a kid's zone, wellness circle, food trucks, vendors and live performances on Saturday, June 21.
- Muncie: Acknowledge the past and inspire the future while having fun at the 6th Annual Juneteenth Muncie Celebration, a free, outdoor event with food, raffles, games, live entertainment and more on Saturday, June 14.
- South Bend: Listen to guest speakers and performances at the South Bend Chapter of the Indiana Black Expo’s Juneteenth Celebration and Resource Fair at LaSalle Park. There will be food, vendors, music and live entertainment performers on Saturday, June 21.
Kentucky
- Bowling Green: Watch a family-friendly movie during the second annual “Juneteenth Celebration Free Movie Night 2025” that highlights a janitor working to keep his dreams alive in 1950’s Pittsburgh on Saturday, June 19.
- Lexington: Gather with local community at one of the events hosted by the City of Lexington through Saturday, June 14 until Saturday, June 21, including the Juneteenth Jubilee and SoulTeenth Fest.
- Louisville: Come together during the Louisville Juneteenth Festival, where more than 100 minority-owned businesses are available to explore on Saturday, June 21.
Missouri
- St. Louis: Spend the day outside at the NIC Juneteenth Festival in Soulard Park, with entertainment, vendors, a parade and more on Saturday, June 14.
- Ferguson: Join the community in Forestwood Park for the Ferguson Juneteenth Celebration. The celebration will have food, resale vendors and community organizations on Saturday, June 14.
North Carolina
- Charlotte: Check out the Juneteenth Festival of the Carolinas, a multi-day event hosting different activities like a youth culture camp, drum circle, religious services and other forms of entertainment between Thursday, June 12 and Sunday, June 15.
- Greensboro: Juneteenth GSO Fest is a week-long celebration with festivities such as an interfaith Juneteenth Gospel Superfest on Sunday, June 15 and a Juneteenth Family Fest at LeBauer Park on Saturday, June 21.
- Winston-Salem: Dance, craft and shop during the 2025 Juneteenth Festival at the Innovation Quarter on June 21.
Michigan
- Grand Rapids: Join the City of Grand Rapids at Calder Plaza for the 5th Annual Juneteenth Jam. Enjoy live performances by local musicians and DJs, games for children, art showcases and Black-owned food vendors in celebration of the Juneteenth holiday on Thursday, June 19.
- Lansing: Get involved in a jam-packed week of events during the Lansing Juneteenth Celebration, including an annual ballgame, Juneteenth 5K, Freedom Festival, and more starting Saturday, June 14 through Saturday, June 21.
- Muskegon: Use your creativity at your local Muskegon Area District Library during the week of June 15 and make your own Juneteenth bracelet to commemorate the holiday.
New York
- Bronx: Join the Van Cortlandt Park Alliance and the Bronx Arts Ensemble for a Juneteenth Celebration on the lawn of the Van Cortlandt House Museum. There will be delicious food, music performances and spoken word on Thursday, June 19.
- Buffalo: Celebrate freedom, history, culture and resilience during the Buffalo Juneteenth on Saturday, June 14 and Sunday, June 15.
Ohio
- Akron: Immerse yourself in a living history experience that brings to life a year in America’s Reconstruction Era during the Juneteenth Celebration – Genius of Freedom event at Hale Farm & Village on June 19.
- Cincinnati: Join Juneteenth Cincinnati for their Annual Juneteenth Festival and enjoy several events throughout the weekend at Eden Park including a parade of flags, youth activities and music on Saturday, June 14.
- Toledo: Bring your best moves to Destination Toledo’s Party in the Park series while they host a celebratory Juneteenth concert by The Distant Cousinz on Friday, June 20 at Promenade Park.
South Carolina
