Q: What is your title at the Gene B. Glick Company?
A: Part-time leasing consultant at Sienna Square Apartments in Tallahassee, Florida.
Q: What brought you to Glick? Why did you want to work here?
A: I was in search of an opportunity to expand my horizons in a new space while enhancing my analytical, communication/sale and leadership skills. Sienna Square is a recent acquisition of Glick’s and it has provided me the chance to join a team in the restructuring of a property/business, which has always been a fascinating interest of mine.
Q: What training/education/background do you bring to Glick?
A: I have a bachelor’s degree in business with a concentration in finance and a minor in economics from Florida A&M University. In addition, I am pursing a second bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics with a minor in computer science at Florida State University.
Q: What do you do in your role?
A: I am responsible for assisting my team with marketing, touring and converting prospects to residents. In addition, I manage marketing outreach activities, where I develop relationships with local businesses to gain market share on behalf of Sienna Square Apartments.
Q: What would surprise people about your role/the work you do?
A: Sometimes I have the opportunity to assist families with securing a home when they have no other place to go.
Q: What part(s) of your job do you like the most?
A: I enjoy touring and learning about prospects’ needs and desires and then using my sales skills to match property attributions to them. If I am convincing enough, I am always excited to obtain a lease, which feels like closing a big corporate deal.
Q: What has surprised you the most about working at Glick?
A: Employees get the work day off for their birthday and are flown to Indianapolis for training.
Q: Where are you from originally?
A: I was born and lived in Miami, Florida for seven years prior to moving to Thomasville, Georgia, where I resided until college.
Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
A: I enjoy tutoring, solving math problems and spending quality time with my girlfriend.
Q: What would surprise Glick team members about you?
A: I have a summer internship on Wall Street as an investment banker and I have studied abroad in Shanghai, China.
Q: What is one item on your bucket list?
A: I would like to travel all seven wonders of the world.
Q: Do you live life by any certain motto or philosophy?
A: “Failure is not an option.”
