Glick Employee Spotlight: Deanna Buss
Property Manager, Spruce Village
We are happy to spotlight our Spruce Village Property Manager Deanna this month. She has greatly contributed to our team and to resident needs for many years. When asked what has kept her on our team for so long, she highlights the underlying mission of Glick.
“I love Glick. There is no other company I would ever want to work for. I believe in the Mission Statement of Glick and I appreciate the value they put in us as employees and the value Glick puts into our residents.”
Her dedication to making a difference in her residents’ lives does not go unnoticed! A part of Deanna’s purpose at work comes from helping neighbors who utilize our affordable housing programs for themselves and their families. We are grateful for our team members because they are driven in their different roles, and Deanna takes that to the extra mile when it comes to helping those who need it most.
“I am motivated at work because I believe in what I do. I make a difference in the lives of everyone looking for affordable housing. Glick helps me maintain a high standard because the entire company believes in what we do.”
Every team member has someone who inspires their work or helps support them during their career journey. For Deanna, this is a fellow leader within the team that demonstrates with her own actions and words how to be a good colleague and manager! Kara has helped her learn the ropes and does it with grace.
“Kara Miller is my inspiration; she has taught me so much. By watching her and listening to how she does things I have learned to be a better manager. Kara has always made time for me and has been very patient with me while I ask her a million questions. I am who I am today because of her and the time she has invested in me.”
Deanna has shared so many great memories with our team, it’s hard to pick a favorite! But she shares her experience at her first leadership conference with Glick which turned into a long-term career.
“I remember my first [leadership conference] and I was terrified of meeting all these strangers. But what I realized is that Glick as a whole has never met a stranger. I was welcomed right away and made to feel like part of the Glick family. My other favorite story is when Glick purchased [our property], and prior to signing the contract, Glick started shipping me all these boxes. It was so overwhelming but what I realized is that Glick wanted to make sure I had all the tools I needed to be a productive part of the Glick team. The company put in lot of time and effort to make sure I could start right off doing things the Glick way. It made the transition so much easier for myself and my team.”
Thank you, Deanna, for all you do for Team Glick and for your residents! We are grateful to have you as a valued member of our team.
