Q: What is your title at the Gene B. Glick Company?

A: Assistant Property Manager at Cambridge Square of Richmond

Q: What brought you to Glick? Why did you want to work here?
A: Property management is what I do! I saw the position posted and knew it was something I wanted to apply for. I was previously working out of state, so working locally in my hometown was also a goal of mine.

Q: What has kept you here?
A: Glick is a solid company to work for. They care for their employees, and it shows in everything they do. I am honored to work for Glick!

Q: How did you make your way into this industry?
A: I was working as a case manager at a mental health center for those with serious mental illnesses. They built a new 60-unit tax credit complex for those at risk of homelessness. I applied and got the job. Best thing to ever happen to me — I love what I do!

Q: What training/education/background did you bring with you?
A: I have successfully completed Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) training.

Q: What do you do in your role?
A: I interview and process annual receipts, process and submit 504 requests, assistance animal and pet logbook, run rent checks, applications … you name it, I do it.

Q: How do you describe your role to friends and family?
A: I am an assistant property manager for senior/disabled Section 8 income-based housing.

Q: What is a typical workday like?
A: No two days are the same. What you plan on doing at work and what you actually do are sometimes two very different things! There’s never a dull moment.

Q: Why is your role/the work you do at Glick important?
A: Having a stable home makes all the difference in your life.

Q: What would surprise people about your role/the work you do?
A: How much paperwork it requires!

Q: What makes Glick unique compared to previous companies where you have worked?
A: Glick is the best property management company I have worked for. They take care of their employees and help so much in the community. It has been a blessing working for Glick.

Q: What part(s) of your job do you like the most?
A: Getting to call someone on the waitlist and offer them the apartment home they have been waiting for

Q: What has surprised you the most about working at Glick?
A: How much they do for the community and others

Q: Where are you from originally?
A: Richmond, Indiana

Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
A: Kayak, sleep, binge Netflix, travel with my little family

Q: What would surprise Glick team members about you?
A: I married my high school sweetheart.

Q: If you won the lottery and didn’t have to worry about money, how would you fill your time (e.g., dream job, hobbies, causes)?
A: I would donate to those less fortunate while making sure my family was taken care of. I would also travel and volunteer during my down time.

Q: If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?
A: Bora Bora

Q: Is there anything about yourself that you would like to add?
A: I am a wife and a mom. I’ve been married 20 years and have a six-year-old son.
