Happy New Year! We are so thankful for our team members who go above and beyond for our residents every day. Today, we are spotlighting one of those valued teammates: Stephanie Austin.

Stephanie has been a Resident Service Coordinator for Lebanon Manor and Fowler Apartments for nearly four years. We caught up with her to learn more about her time with Glick. For Stephanie, the residents are the best part of her job.

“I love interacting with my residents and helping them achieve the highest quality of life while maintaining their independence. I enjoy working for the company because I feel supported. Glick provides me with all the tools I need to be successful in my role.”

Some of her favorite moments at Glick stem from listening to her residents’ needs and meeting them where they are. At times, she even enlists help from her own social circles and the community at large.

“There was a time when both of my properties were due for HUD inspections, and a lot of residents didn’t know if they could afford the cleaning supplies they needed to get their apartments ready. So I made a Facebook post asking for donations and I had family, friends, and people in the community I didn’t even know send Amazon deliveries or personally drop off donations to my properties. I put together 181 cleaning kits and gave one to every apartment at each of my properties, and put the extra items in the resident pantries. The overwhelming generosity fed my soul and put a huge smile on my residents’ faces.”

Stephanie says one colleague in particular has helped shape her career journey at Glick.

“Phyllis Merrill, the Property Manager at Fowler, has helped me grow so much. She’s always there to support me, to boost my confidence, and give me strength. When I am having a hard day, she reminds me of the difference I have made in her residents’ lives, and that makes all the difference for me.”

When she’s not at work, Stephanie and her husband enjoy spending time on their family farm – Austin Hobby Farm – where they raise show goats, chickens, ducks, turkeys, geese, and their 19-year-old miniature pony, Hank. According to the couple, being on the farm with their animals is their happy place.
