Q: What is your title at the Gene B. Glick Company?
A: Maintenance Supervisor at Regency Park Bowling Green
Q: What brought you to Glick? Why did you want to work here?
A: I knew the maintenance supervisor, and he told me Glick was hiring. So I applied, and they hired me!
Q: What has kept you here?
A: The benefits, pay and the all-around culture of the company
Q: What training/education/background did you bring with you?
A: I graduated from Bowling Green State Vocational School in 1978 with a diploma in refrigeration and air conditioning.
Q: What do you do in your role?
A: A little bit of everything! I’m a grounds worker, plumber, electrician, heat and air repairman and even sometimes a social worker and financial guru.
Q: How do you describe your role to friends and family?
A: A jack of all trades
Q: Why is your role/the work you do at Glick important?
A: I can take something broken and make it work while staying within budget. I’m good at it.
Q: What part(s) of your job do you like the most?
A: Servicing A/Cs, painting, grounds work — and some of the conversations I have with the residents are quite enlightening at times.
Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
A: Play golf, work on cars, go to car shows, cruise-ins and motor sports events, and spend time with my grandkids.
Q: If you won the lottery and didn’t have to worry about money, how would you fill your time (e.g., dream job, hobbies, causes)?
A: I would have a garage full of old hot rods and play all the golf I could get in.
Q: What makes Glick unique compared to previous companies where you have worked?
A: I’ve only ever had three jobs my whole life — and obviously this one stuck.
