IndyStar Highlights Glick's Efforts to House Homeless Veterans
Gene B. Glick Company President CEO David O. Barrett recently contributed to the conversation about homelessness in Indianapolis.
The Glick Family Housing Foundation — dedicated to the acquisition, development and preservation of quality, affordable housing for low-income residents — is piloting a program with Hoosier Veterans Assistance Foundation (HVAF) and the city of Indianapolis to house homeless veterans. Right now, Glick is housing 15 homeless veterans, and the company pledges to set aside 50 units throughout the Foundation's properties.
As quoted in The Indianapolis Star, Barrett said, "I think we all are troubled at the explosion of the homeless population, and we wanted to be part of the solution to this problem. There's no reason why veterans who've served our country so well should go without a home."
