Success Is Best Shared: Celebrating Marilyn Glick & Her Living Legacy This Women’s History Month
Mar 25, 2026
As a co-founder of the Gene B. Glick Company, Marilyn Glick played a key role in building the organization from the ground up, managing financials and sourcing building materials to help bring Glick’s first multi-home dream to life. Alongside her husband, Gene, Marilyn drove impact beyond the business, trailblazing new resources in education, the arts, health, and history, that continue to benefit generations today. Here are some examples:
- The Marilyn K. Glick Center for Glass at Ball State University
- The Indianapolis Cultural Trail, an eight-mile network of bike and pedestrian paths
- The Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center, home of the Indiana Historical Society, renamed in recognition of the family’s $8 million gift
- The Eugene and Marilyn Glick Eye Institute at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, made possible with a $30 million gift
As we wrap up Women’s History Month, we’re highlighting Glick Philanthropy’s Women Build team, a group of women volunteers who exemplify Marilyn’s legacy of giving in action today.
Living the Legacy
Aligning closely with our mission, the Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity Women Build initiative invites women of all backgrounds and experiences to raise funds and build safe, affordable housing in their communities. For many, this is a hands-on experience that builds both homes and meaningful connections within the Glick team and beyond.
Glick has proudly supported Women Build in Indianapolis in previous years, and in 2026, 16 Women Builders will build for four local women and their families in need. The team will go onsite in June, and we look forward to sharing more this summer!
Visit your local Habitat for Humanity website for more information on how you can get involved in your community.
For Generations To Come
For nearly 80 years, Marilyn and Gene Glick’s family values and commitment to service have been carried forward by generations of Glick team members, and we are proud to uphold that legacy today.
