VTO with Heart – North Wayne Elementary School

At the Gene B. Glick Company, we are committed to strengthening the quality of life and giving back to the communities we call home. As part of our corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, we encourage our team members to give back to their communities through volunteerism and empower them to do so through our paid volunteer time off (VTO) program. Our ‘VTO with Heart’ series highlights Glick team members using their VTO to volunteer with organizations close to their hearts.

Teonna Branson recently volunteered for Field Day at Northwood Elementary School, an elementary school on the west side of Indianapolis. Teonna likes to volunteer at North Wayne Elementary because outside of being a Service Coordinator for the Gene B. Glick Company, she is also the President of PTO at North Wayne Elementary School. It is also the school that her son attends.

After her time volunteering with North Wayne Elementary, we caught up with Teonna to learn more about how volunteering is part of her life.

How Does Volunteering Impact Your Life?

"Volunteering impacts my life because I'm able to pour into others and give back. It is amazing to have an employer that gives you 8 hours to give back."

What Does Glick’s VTO Mean to You?

"I love that Glick gives you VTO time to be able to give back to the community. It is priceless that I am able to pour into others."

Are There Other Organizations That You Work with That You Want Others to Know About?

"I would love to volunteer at Big Brothers Big Sisters or Horizon House."

If you are a Glick team member and want to use your VTO to give back to your community, submit your VTO request via Paylocity. We also encourage all team members to log their volunteer time and impact on Selflessly to inspire others.
