VTO with Heart – REAL Services
At the Gene B. Glick Company, we are committed to strengthening the quality of life and giving back to the communities we call home. As part of our corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, we encourage our team members to give back to their communities through volunteerism and empower them to do so through our paid volunteer time off (VTO) program. Our ‘VTO with Heart’ series highlights Glick team members using their VTO to volunteer with organizations close to their hearts.
Desmond Purnell recently volunteered for REAL Services at a lunch program that the organization hosted at Cambridge Square LaPorte. Desmond currently works at Cambridge Square LaPorte as a Housekeeper.
Desmond chose to volunteer with REAL Services, because the organization had an available volunteer spot for the lunch program that would benefit the residents at the property where he works. "REAL Services has a great lunch program that has an ongoing community-focused effort to help people in need by providing them with nutrition and food pantry information," Desmond said.
After his time volunteering at REAL Services, we caught up with Desmond to learn more about how volunteering is part of his life.
