Ways to Celebrate Black History Month

February is Black History Month, an annual celebration that pays tribute to the generations of African Americans who struggled with adversity to achieve full citizenship in American society. Black History Month also highlights the groundbreaking work and experiences of African Americans and the key social movements they have spearheaded during America’s history.

There are several opportunities outlined below for everyone to grow their understanding of African American history and support African American communities. Even though this celebration is limited to the month of February, expanding our knowledge and understanding in order to better society should be a continuous and life-long endeavor.
