Colin Atkinson

Vice President, Real Estate Development

As Vice President of Real Estate Development, Colin leads a team that oversees the long-term vision of the multifamily portfolio excluding the syndicated tax credit portfolio. His team's responsibilities include project management of any debt/financing, acquisitions, dispositions, investor relations, rehabilitation, and non-tax credit new development related decisions. Also included in the responsibilities are providing financial and project management support for property management initiatives and making strategic decisions on Section 8 HAP contracts.

In his role at Glick, Colin most enjoys helping the company maneuver around obstacles and take advantage of opportunities. His work gives him great pride because it helps ensure that Glick is in a strong position to fulfill its corporate social responsibility to the communities that its residents call home. Colin has been involved in the acquisition, disposition, and rehabilitation of over $1 billion in apartments in his career but helping the Gene B. Glick Family Housing Foundation grow from five properties when he started in 2011, to over 40 properties and counting has been a truly rewarding achievement.

Prior to joining Glick, Colin was a commercial real estate broker for Marcus & Millichap for six years, where he specialized in the sale of multi-family housing throughout the Midwest.

Colin serves on several nonprofit boards and committees and is currently the President of the United States Tennis Association - Midwest Section. His greatest personal achievement was leading the creation of EntouRaj for Kids with his friend and former world #1 ranked men’s doubles player, Rajeev Ram. The event, which has since blossomed into the Rajeev Ram Foundation nonprofit, aims to bring professional tennis back to Indianapolis, and leverage fundraising to support a reading program for elementary school kids and equipment grants for Indiana high school tennis teams. He also serves as a member of the National Multifamily Housing Council’s (NMHC) Workforce Housing Committee and the FNMA Borrower Advisory Group in addition to being a member of the Board Development and Marketing Committee for Indiana Sports Corp.

Colin graduated from Clemson University with a degree in financial management and was a member of the men’s varsity tennis team which reached #13 in the country. Colin is an avid networker who enjoys coaching his daughters’ soccer teams, playing tennis, and traveling around the country with his family.
